Why we might need a superbond 3 or is it why we don't need a superbond 2 ?
The black line represents Belize's public debt as a percent of GDP. The line does NOT represent GDP, nor does it mean that GDP is declining.
There is no reason to think that Belize's GDP is going to be negative over the next several years.
Belize's GDP is expected to grow at a rate of 2.5% per year in the 2012-2017 period, according to IMF projections -- not strong growth compared with other emerging countries, and lower than Belize's growth rate in previous years, but still not negative growth.
