Attn hoteliers: This travel agent needs replacement accommodations for guests who were booked into someplace in Placencia, email him if you have something:

To Whom It May Concern:

My thoughts and prayers go out to all in Southern Belize who were affected
by Hurricane Iris. Due to this unfortunate situation I have guests who are
in need of accommodation during Belize's busiest time of year. Could you
please let me know if you have one single and one double room arriving
December 29 departing January 1, 2002? If you have holiday restrictions
please let me know, I can be somewhat flexible.

Wildest regards,
Todd Smith

Quote from Mr. Todd's Website:

We direct you away from crowded tourist sites like Ambergris Caye to more remote and pristine marine and terrestrial environments.

I went to their website. It is very nice. I followed a number of links on Belize and didn't see the line quoted. However, since their people were booked in Placencia it shouldn't surprise anyone that they are not looking for an A/C experience.
I don't see anything negative about their post. I hope someone helps them find something suitable.

Yes, it's on his site under http://www.wildland.com/trips/centralamerica/belize.asp

But I notice he gives a nice write up for Antigua, Guatemala (which, like Ambergris Caye where I live, and Placencia too, is one of my favourite places on earth). How can he call Ambergris Caye crowded and yet promote Antigua which has just 6 times the population and yet receives 40 times the tourists?

I could never call Ambergris Caye crowded even at the busiests of times and even Antigua, with many times more tourists, never seems crowded except for the Holy Week ceremonies.

Mr. Todd Smith, you can still promote your favoured destinations without the negative stuff.
