Has anyone who has moved to San Pedro brought any gold or silver bullion with them from the U.S. ? I am trying to find out if it's legal or what the procedures are for doing so. It is just a small collection of bars and rounds. Thanks for any info.

Nice idea, but am thinking it is better to load the temporary debit cards like the drug dealers do.....

Another idea might be to put your gold and silver bars, pieces of eight, etc. into a safety deposit box at your home bank.

It still counts as currency and anything over $10K needs to be declared.

If bringing them down, I would certainly invest in a strong safe, bolted to your floor, in which to store them. But I wouldn't bring them down in the first place -- the safety deposit box in a US bank idea sounds much safer.
