We are traveling to AC in November and are still trying to decide where to stay. Any suggestions?

Every person on this board has their own favorite place to stay. There are very few places which get bad reports.

The key to finding appropriate lodging for you, is to apply what you want from your lodging. There are many things to consider. You will have to give more details if you want feedback. What do you want in a room/hotel/villa?

It really depends on what your taste is. My favorites are Captain Morgans, Victoria House and Ramon's Village because they have that romantic Island atmosphere. If you are looking for a nice, comfortable very personalist dive condo I recomend Gaz Cooper's Playa Blanca Resort. However, everyone likes differnt things and there are many other nice hotels, condos and resorts on AC.

I've stayed at eight or ten of the hotels on the island and have visited and toured every hotel that is open, and I have to say that nearly every one has something good to offer -- value, location, amenities, friendly management, something.

It just depends on your budget, interests and personal preferences.

Thank you! What we are looking for is this:

1. nice accomodations (doesn't need to be 5-star)
2. friendly and helpful staff ( I have a feeling I'll have a lot of questions)
3. a nice beach
4. offers different activities
5. most importantly, rates between 150-200 a night.

I've done some research on the Internet and have heard of several of these resorts, I would just like to have a first hand opinion instead of going by only what I've read. Thank you for all of your help!

Stay at Sunbreeze Hotel. Wonderful staff and great sunsets, close to town.

The only item,#5, that you may have a problem with is that "Most" places are well below the $150-200US a nite range!Look thru the "lodging" option on this page.

For what you want I'd probably give the top nod to Banana Beach. It's priced at or under the bottom end of your budget range, but the rooms (all one-bedroom suites) are really nice. I think the seafront units are worth the extra money. The staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful on the entire island. It's on and near one of the best beaches on the island. Banana Beach is planning an expansion, including more rooms and a restaurant.

In this price range, I'd also recommend SunBreeze, Belizean Reef Suites, Mayan Princess and Paradise Villas, among others.
