Use the search function to find out everything you need to know about Banana Beach. I can assure you you will not get any negative comments. We stayed there with a group in May and absolutely loved it. The staff there is wonderful. Make sure to request an ocean front suite.

I agree with Nicki. Banana Beach offers an agreeable combination of value, friendly staff, very nice suites accommodations and amenities such as a pool and acccess to a good beach. It's one of the best places to stay in Belize (and I've visited or stayed at at least 300 of the 400 hotels in the country).

Although I did not stay there in May, I stayed right next door, at Mata Rocks. You will love the place. Nice pool, people and beach. Go over to Mata Rocks and have a Mata Colada at their beach bar. Someone in your party may become known as the Mata Colada woman or the Mata Colada Man! Enjoy.

Send the Bananas folks an e-mail... we are staying there in March and they were more than happy to e-mail us photos, etc. of the hotel and to answer any questions we had. They are very helpful.

My group of 6 just returned from AC and we stayed in 3 condos at Banana Beach. It's a great property, and Tim and the front desk staff are the nicest, most helpful people. We paid $600 for a week for each condo, and Tim was kind enough to upgrade my condo to an oceanfront unit for the first three days. Incredible sunrises. The rooms are large and the bedroom air conditioner was more than enough to cool the whole place. The housekeepers will wash any dishes in the sink every day. There is a small grocery store across the street for ice cream, snacks, cereal, soda, etc. We brought peanut butter, jam, bread, and cereal with us from the States and bought lowfat milk and some other things from Island Supermarket. Peanut butter there was about $7. Bring ziploc baggies with you from home and you can take PB&J sandwiches on any of the snorkeling/scuba/hiking trips. PB&J is almost indestructible and good energy food.

For a week at Banana Beach, a golf cart is a good investment. Rent them in town, they're cheaper. Carts R Us is a good choice, we got 2 four-passenger carts for a week for $240 total. I'm hoping to post a trip report this weekend, but we all had a fantastic time there!
