first off, you are four plus miles north of town. Second, how much trouble do you want to get into?

Check out the first topic under ambergris caye and locate Belizean Shores (north of the river cut by about 3.4 miles). Scroll your curser south. There are plenty of opportunities for fun. Captain Morgan's has a casino and last time I stayed at Belizean Shores, my guests and I would go there to try our luck and kill some time. We ended up winning over $800 BZ (worth $400 US) in just over an hour. They also had live music poolside one or two nights a week.

There is live music somewhere on the island every evening. Check out tacogirl.com and scroll to the bottom of her blog page for the calendar of events as you get close to your travel dates.

Belizean Shores is part of Sandy Point Resorts and there is a boat service affiliated. You can purchase a weekly pass. I haven't done this. I usually rent a golf cart through the resort and travel by land. It's kind of an adventure.

Don't know if Legends is still open. I believe so. They have a live jam session one night a week and sometimes a band. They are also north of the bridge but south of you.

Some of the best "trouble" I got into was just hanging at the pool bar at BS and racking up a bar tab that would make sailors on leave embarrassed. It was just fun because we were our own best company.

I stay there once every two years about.

Last time was November of 2011. Enjoy your trip to paradise!

Walking distance / close to you, (just a few of my fav's!) try Lazy Crocs on the weekend for lunch, Ak'Bol for breakfast, AJi's and Capricorn's for a romantic dinner...

Great beach bar with very nice food at Sundiver (about 1.5 miles north of where you are staying) - you can swim in the pool there while you eat, drink and tell tall tales.

Yeah we are looking at either the boat pass or golf cart rental because I know my wife and I will want to go into town several times. Would love to eat and go to a couple of bars in town but what should we do after dark. The boat service stops at 10:30pm and they say we shouldn't ride in golf carts after dark...

Don't be afraid of the Boogieman after dark.

Is this 10:30 stopping time something new? My kids have riden the boat home much much much later than that.

According to Coastal Express's website, there is an 11:30 water taxi heading north, and a 1:00 am three nights a week (Wed/Fri/Sat).

We occasionally ride bikes home from town at night, but never very late. 9 pm is a late night for us!
