Rode by again today -- nothing happening there on our trip to/from town. There happened to be a police truck going north right as we cut over to the beach, and if anyone had been stealing sand it would have been the perfect time to sic the police on them, but alas...

I see boat loads of stolen sand being taken from my Dad's land across the lagoon - and the sand is subsequently sold. Also limestone rock is quarried off the land too. We are going to have to deal with these thieves as it is no longer just a canoe load here and there.

I had a sand pile delivered to a client's lot and over the couple of weeks it sat there as I waited to get a moment for my yard guy to spread the sand, it was stolen. Must have been a truck and a couple of shovels in the middle of the night.

Why people think they can take something that doesn't belong to them is beyond me. If it doesn't belong to you, then in belongs to someone else!

Last time I saw something like this I asked the fellow taking whether he'd asked the owner of the property.
Answer - The owner probably doesn't mind.
Question - Did you ask him for permission?
Answer - No, I don't know who he is.

Mind-numbing.

A real drag Amanda. Regardless of location I guess once someone gets a canoe load here and there without being confronted the word's out, the grab is more frequent, larger, and it becomes a free for all.

Exactly, it becomes a flood of folks stealing sand and selling it for profit. I guess it is a great gig - til the karma and wrath of me hits! Just simmering for a moment.

I wonder if maybe some think it's like the beach in Belize, belonging to everyone?
