We are planning our 2nd trip to belize next May. This will be a family trip ages 22 -42. 4 of us are divers. 2 of us dove in Belize in December before and loved it. Just wondering what the diving conditions would be like in May. Is it normally rougher at that time of year? Is visability down, ect. Just so we have realistic expectations. We also have one person who wants to try snorkeling for the first time. We plan to stay at The palms and have her try it out at Ramons pier (is this still allowed by people not staying at ramons?) We were wondering where would be a good place for her to take her first snorkeling trip. Info that might be helpful is that she hasn't much experience of being in the water. Any info or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
P.S. we loved belize and can't wait to return!

Amigos Del Mar also has a great pier to try out snorkeling. Hol Chan on a nice day is a great first snorkel and close to town, as well as a glass bottom boat ride with a snorkel stop would also be excellent and close. For freedom, privacy and less wave / current action I prefer Mexico Rocks, but that is farther away and will be more expensive.
Very important to me is a mask that fits, so I would recommend the first timer get a mask that fits properly(doesn't leak), or the entire experience can be awful, frustrating, and misleading.
Belize it!
