Work has begun on upgrading of two streets in Punta Gorda.
Information from the Social Investment Fund Office here confirmed that work on Punta Gorda streets upgrading project commenced this week with work crew of contractor Imer Hernandez Development Co. Ltd. of Bengue Viejo. SIF Information also confirmed that the street upgrading work includes that of Pampana Street and section of R K Pennell Boulevard at a cost of $531,000 of which the Punta Gorda Town Council is to contribute 3% of the total cost and that work is scheduled to be completed in two months.
The two streets upgrading program in Punta Gorda comes under the Belize Municipal Development Project funded by the World Bank and Government of Belize and implemented by the Social Investment Fund (SIF). Traffic on the two streets is to be avoided during the upgrading work period.
