Hi There-
Will be there right after Christmas through the New Year and wanted to know what are the absolutely "don't miss" things to do, in terms of day trips, excursions, snorkeling. Also, what about just hanging out in San Pedro...is that allowed? : ) Guide books only tell you so much, you know! Would also very much appreciate some info on the nightlife and best places to dine out. Should we try to make plans in advance for NYE? Am SO EXCITED for this trip and really appreciate your comments : > THANKS!

Personally, I think every thing on AC should be don't miss-I've never ran into anything I haven't like there. As far as the best excursions-it really depends on what you are looking for. My 2 favorite trips are the catamaran Me Too and the beach bar-b-que. I love the day trip on the catamaran through Hustler's. The day consists of 2 snorkeling stops-Hol Chan and Shark/Ray Alley and a lunch stop at Caye Caulker. It is just a really fun day. Most tour groups have the beach bar-b-que and it is awesome. It's a day of snorkeling, fishing and walking/cooking on the beach-the best meal I ever have while on the island.
Hanging out in San Pedro should definitly not be missed. It's the best part of the trip in my opinion. Nightlife is more abundant than what you may expect. A couple of great places to go dancing-Big Daddy's, Barefoot Iguana's and jaguar. Wednesday is ladies night at Dockside-don't miss it. You won't have any problem finding stuff to do. HTH-Melissa

We had a terrific time at the Lion's Club NY Eve party which was about $20 US to enter per couple. An open shed, lots of locals and cash bar. That is across the street from Fido's and makes for good cross-pollination. IMAHO, remember to dress down. I know my wife would dress differently in St. John than San Pedro. The locals are suprisingly conservative. If you want uptown on NYE plan on the disco--Barefoot Iguana, certainly crazier than Lion's club. Every thing shuts down at 11:45 to honor and not compete with the midnightmass

I'm a bit confused. Last year I walked down the beach to Ramon's with my friends we partied non-stop until Ramon's closed around 2, then headed to Iguana's. I don't remember anything shutting down at 11:45. A little help here please.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?
