Anyone ever hold a wedding on Ambergris? I've searched some sites, but I wanted to hear from someone who has done it and what it could cost.

Lots of us on the board were married on AC!! I am one of those people. The wedding was AWESOME! Wouldn't have changed a thing. We got married Sept. 2 at the SunDiver (www.sundiverbeachresort.com), and it was perfect. Do a search for "wedding" on the board, and I bet you'll find a ton of threads that will help you out.
Nicki, BillandJeane, BelizeWed, YBON, and others have all been married on AC and frequent the board.

OH, and cost. I think we ended up spending around $1000 on the wedding, minister, flowers, photographer, and musicians. Then other expenses were lodging, dinner after the wedding, etc....

I will be married on Ambergris Caye in April of 2002. So far it has been pretty simple to put together. I will be staying at the Blue Tang Inn and the manager is acting as my coordinator and arranging everything. We are being married on the beach in front of the hotel and a beach BBQ will follow the ceremony.

Our wedding on Ambergris Caye this past November was less than $3000.

That included flowers from Dulce (my bouquet, two bridesmaids bouquets and four boutenierres), the Tommy Bahama clothes for our entire wedding party (6 people), 8 bottles of Vueve Cliquet Champagne, two rolls of film of photography done by Kay Scott, wedding videography, the wedding coordination by Iraida, an hour "cocktail cruise" transportation from Ramon's to Capricorn's, a cooler full of Beliken's and Icehouses for the cruise there and back, an open bar with hors de vours at Capricorn's and an awesome dinner at Capricorn's with my guests having a choice from five main entree's.

This was all for 20 close family and friends and of course, excludes airfare and hotel accomodations.
