It's Earth Day, and Tony Rath uploaded a cool video from Cayo's Chalillo reservoir and Macal River. He has a great introspective moment:
Can't believe it has been 3 1/2 years since I have been up the Chalillo reservoir - time is so ephemeral. As the memories pile up, some invariably slip into oblivion. I wonder if photographers are actually capturing visual memories of the moment so they don't forget; or they struggle to capture the "feeling" of that moment so others will not foresake?
Looking forward to tomorrow's expedition back to the Chalillo. Here is a short video from the last visit, a kayak trip with Jim Scott and Mick Fleming. This was shot with compact video camera attached to the front of my kayak. The video was editing shortly after returning. Unfortunately, never did find the time to edit a full length version, though it is fun to go back and look at the footage.
