We'd like to give our coconut trees injections to protect them from lethal yellowing as there are signs that we've had plant hopper activity. We know a lot of businesses do regular OTC injections and while we've asked around and get sort of 'advice', nothing in detail. We'd love to know where you get your product - if you get it in Belize (We tried prossers but they just had one bottle and it was a year out of date) and if not, if you have problems importing. Is it worth getting the kits that you can buy in the USA? If anyone knows where we can get the OTC here would anyone be willing to share how to use it correctly. We look forward to any help and thank you in advance.

Florida based, very knowledgeable, treatments work. This is the stuff that saved AC's trees about 10 years ago.
We had a problem importing their system because the delivery "pods" are shotgun casings. Major issues at customs that caused a hold-up in delivery. Eventually all came through and the treatment product was still effective after a stint waiting in the heat. Might recommend ordering their tree-meds without their delivery system.
"But" even with the problems importing, the products arrived and work(ed) well.

Are these the treatments that render the coconuts and milk inedible?

Good point Phil, yes its ill-advised to eat the fruit after this treatment but that seems to stop no one. Trees injected are rarely marked and i'm sure we've all ingested it from the coconut water and oil in rice and beans.
What harm does it do us , I don't know.
I might have effected my grammar and spelling , I need an excuse desperately.

We called them Elbert and they said 'all we have is Miracle Grow, try Prossers'. *shrug* Yes, I'd be very interested to know if we can eat the fruit. I shall ask the guy in Florida.

Diane would that be ?

I went bust on the link you posted.

If it is the same place then the active ingredient in "OTC" is Oxytetracycline (39%)...I'll let you draw your own conclusions about health effects following ingestion...I suspect its so dilute at that point in a coconut its por nada. Besides it may cure you of a few things if youve been well, naughty.

Their "valves" are empty brass rifle casings (looks like a .30-06). I can see why they'd cause a ruckus at customs. They are fitted with a rubber stopper in the primer area. I assume they jammed in a drilled hole and the syringe is punched through the rubber stopper. The juice is held in place by the casing and the rubber stopper keeps it from leaking out.

Bear's link is correct - sorry I posted incorrectly. Foggy memory.
Right about the valves ..... they do work. We've had a neighbor make his own version from something - and other folks just drill a hole and inject.
