On Ambergris Caye this morning its wet after a long night of heavy rain. The overcast seems dense and hid the sunrise. We didn't get much wind, currently its 10 mph from the East but it's gusty. The expected high is 80 f.

We are in San Pedro... First time here. Staying in Rent house south of san pedro. Never been in a tropical storm. Kinda scared... Only have golf cart... What should we know about this storm? Should we be thinking of leaving this area? Does this storm look super bad?

Been to the area where you are staying a few times, the only way off the island is by air or boat. You are better off staying where you are. From what the reports states it will be a tropical storm so a lot of wind and rain. Stay out from under a tree with green coconuts :)You will be fine, enjoy the tropical beauty of Ambergris Caye.

There are no forecasts saying that it will be a Tropical storm when the centre passes over Belize. It is currently a Tropical Depression. Expect not much worse than what you're already seeing.

"High-resolution visible satellite images show a low-level
circulation has formed in association with the tropical wave over
the northwestern Caribbean Sea. The system also has organized deep
convection associated with the center. Therefore the system has
developed into a tropical depression. Surface observations support
an initial intensity of 30 kt. The center is nearing the coast of
Belize and the cyclone will have very little time for
intensification prior to landfall. Some intensification is likely
if the system emerges into the Bay of Campeche on Tuesday as
indicated by the NHC forecast track. The official intensity
forecast is close to the decay-SHIPS guidance."

7:20 pm: Looks like we're over the hump and it's calming!
I just walked about 3 miles of beach. We have a little beach erosion but not much damage. I didn't see any badly damaged docks, just a board or two here and there.
I think its time to start speaking of this one in past tense.
TD2 bye bye.
