Hi there! Hope I'm posting in the right spot. Looking to build a seawall on a canal front lot, and was just given a quote that seems a little (a lot) high considering I used to build bulkhead ing and piers in the US. Does everyone just build with concrete? Is that the cheapest method? and does anyone have a rough Idea of cost per linear foot? Thanks. Again, if I'm not posting in the right spot please direct me to the spot for people that would like get a better feel for actual construction costs there.

Cement is the only way to go unless you could be happy with a natural mangrove but planting mangrove and waiting for it to grow will be your children's children's benefit. Other materials like natural rock, wood or sand bags just wash out in bad storms.
ball park cement for 100 feet 20,000.bz.
PS don't forget about drains or you could be placing your house in a swimming pool when we have storms.

Thanks. I was given a pretty lofty bid per foot. And yes, not only will a wall keep water out, but also in.

I had one done and didn't think about drains, for the last few days I've had live jellyfish in the front yard.

If it is on a canal with not a lot of boat traffic you can use the plastic corrugated panels - we have that on the lagoon side of our property. We have a wooden "boardwalk" on top of it. It has held up well - built in 2004.

Yeah, that's vinyl bulkheading and I was curious if anyone did that down there.
