Can anyone offer any advice about Exotic Caye Resort. I have pretty much narrowed my search down to that or Banana Beach. Which one has a better beach? Are they both within walkuing distance to town? Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say Banana Beach by a mile. The only disadvantage (for some it's a plus) to Banana Beach is that it is about 1 1/2 miles south of town, a bit too far to walk regularly. But the suites are beautiful (especially the seafront units, which are worth the extra money), excellent friendly management, and it's on/near a nice beach.

I'll agree with your evaluation. However regarding the walking distance, one must keep in mind that there are numerous "Rest Stops" on the walk to and from town to ease the journey. Without distractions it takes about 40 minutes at a comfortable pace, or so I've been told. Usually takes me about four hours, .........each way.

My wife and I have just returned from Exotic Caye and had a wonderful stay. I cannot speak for the differences between accomodations, but the short walk to town is a huge benefit. We were able to eat at different place for each meal. We spent a great deal of time in the town exploring. It really all depends on the type of place you are trying to stay at. We have stayed at fine resorts and not-so-fine places. Exotic Caye is a great place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Either way you will have a great trip to Ambergris Caye.

CHOOCHOO, I bet you've taught every single one of those "rest stops" how to make that blue thingy. ;-)

Contrary to certain opinions, I am very discriminating. Only those "rest stops" that seemed worthy of the instructional time have been selected. Ah, that would be all of them.

You sure didn't stick around long. Was it something we drank?

THere have been many a time when I wished I was staying at Exotic Caye and not beautiful banana beach. It's a long way to go after adding a few pounds of Canucks brew.
