Although I am booked at Journey'end this March, I am thinking about changing my reservations to Belizean Shores. The rooms just look alot nicer and the rates are alot cheaper. I was wondering if the construction was done yet? Does anyone have any input on this? Since Belizean Shores is a condo complex, I believe, is their good restaurants and bars within walking distance?

We were at BZ Shores last summer, and found it to be the perfect mix of "away from it" as well as "pretty near to it" that sometimes is lacking with some of the north island resorts. We rode bikes to several of the other resorts, bars, restaurants, etc. Water travel arrangements to San Pedro Town are easy to make. There was a bit of construction, but from what we could see it had been artfully positioned for as little interruption (i.e. noise) as possible. We know people who just stayed there over Christmas 2001 and loved it. The new building construction is now towards the back of the property, and the rentals are up front towards the ocean. BZS is supposed to be opening their own bar/grill in late February. The pool is to die for!

Just spent christmas - new years at Journeys End. We found people coming over from BS all the time for the restaurant, and of course the onsite 5 Star Padi diving with Scuba Steve. BZ. still looked like a construction project in pregress.....stay with your first reservation.
