I'd like to help but we're following you by a week. A couple of us also guide and teach. Any opportunity for us to find good fishing on our own? We have guides arranged for the first few days but were going to play it by ear from there. I notice you've been there before so I thought I'd ask....

Report from El Pescador:
Seas have been very calm but a bit overcast. Tarpon have been seen in large numbers. Schooling tarpon are not biting; but large singles are putting up a great fight. January and February are always great months for our permit. They are hanging around with the tarpon on some deeper flats and have been aggressive. Bones are always good.
We even saw 3 sail fish in the deep yesterday while fishing for wahoo.
We have a had a few cold fronts come in over the last few weeks which has made the water clarity perfect - you can see for miles on the flats. Overall it is GREAT angling. For more fishing information visit www.elpescador.com.
