The Boca del Rio Park is one of the top spots where families enjoy the best San Pedro has to offer; sand, sea and beach. However, due to weather conditions, age and the constant use of its facilities, the park has deteriorated and was in need of a face lift.
The San Pedro Town Council (SPTC), with the help of generous donors have embarked rehabilitation Boca del Rio Park to its former glory. The park is seeing a significant facelift which includes the construction of band new wooden gazebos. These improved gazebos, which are replacing the thatch palapas, are sturdier and resistant to high winds and heavy rain. The beams sustaining the gazebo are on a concrete base that will resist minor hurricane force winds and the constant threat of beach erosion. A total of three gazebos are being constructed.
