Timothy James Callanan
Tim was born April 24th, 1970 in Woburn, MA where he group up playing hockey and basketball. He developed an early love for the water and fishing. He was a social creature who never met a stranger. He was professionally trained in construction and learned the trade of plumbing where he became fully licensed to practice. Later, likewise was professionally trained as a Realtor and further developed his impeccable reputation as a trusted advisor.
His great adventure started when he was 18 and sent to St. Croix on a mission to help an old family friend when Hurricane Hugo decimated the island. It was there he met Tina and fell in love. They were married shortly thereafter and have been faithfully devoted to each other since. He traveled extensively through the Caribbean and later set sail for the Florida Keys. He remained in Key West and Marathon living on a houseboat for a handful of years before setting his compass south south west for Belize. He settled in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye for the last 18 years declaring it as his and Tina’s home.
He no sooner landed in San Pedro when Hurricane Keith pinned-him-down and left him to survive with the rest of the locals. It was at this time people got to see this gringo was different. Any one who knows Tim would agree he has the most disarming smile and would give you the shirt off his back. He found his place in the world here. Tim was an explorer, entrepreneur, respected businessman, community contributor, loving husband, great brother, dutiful son and awesome friend.
He is survived by his wife Tina in Belize, parents George and Linda in Lake George, NY., brother Brian and nephew John in Plantation, FL., brother Sean, his wife Audra and nephews Griffin, Becket and Carter in Middleton, MA. and brother Kevin in Winchester, MA. He also had many aunts, uncles and cousins most of whom reside in the Boston area from which he came. He had a tremendous amount of friends and touched many people deeply. He will be sorely missed. In loving memory of Tim. Psalm 23
