Our Chairman and the council have exhausted most of our efforts to appeal to property owners to get most property tax arrears up to date. This is a dilemma because it's affecting our efforts to convince our central government of the needs of our village.

We have a few options, but none of these will be necessary if villagers live up to their basic obligations. Property tax is the major contributor of income for Caye Caulker. We have reserved court time for October thru November in anticipation. The amount of arrears is staggering.

We have set a deadline of September 30th for all villagers to make good on their obligations. Please do not force this council to go to our Plan B. We will be using all necessary media to get this message out. This issue is very important if we want our island to go forward.

Thank you and God Bless

Wayne Miller, Caye Caulker
