Am having great difficulty finding a place that accomodates a family of 5. Kids 13,10,7. We stayed at Banana Bank last year and was great(may do it again) but wanted to try somethng different. Want to be in the Cayo district so we can do the caves. Really wanted to stay at Chaa Creek Jungle camp but they require 3 casitas, none of my children will stay by themslves. The sounds are great at night, but when you are a kid your imagination works overtime! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We (a party of 4 adults - one couple and two singles) stayed at Duplooy's a couple of years ago. They had two adjacent jungle lodge rooms that share a bath. One room had one bed and the other had two doubles. This might work for you. The food at DuPlooy's was great, there's swimming in the river, and their deck over the river is nice for relaxing or playing cards and such. They were able to arrange all tours for us too.

I agree that duPlooy's could work ... including their budget accommodations in the Pink House. At Chaa Creek, the garden suites would work great (two suites attached, two bedrooms, two baths) but they are pricey. Ditto Blancaneaux's villas -- huge two-bedroom, two-bath cabanas.

More at the budget level, Clarissa Falls has a large family cabana. Maya Mountain's cabanas aren't large but they do have a "group cabana" with a series of rooms that might work.

I have stayed at most of the jungle lodges in Belize, in many cases with my wife and two kids -- sometimes a little crowded but not bad -- though I guess the fifth person makes it more difficult.

Thanks everyone, Chaa Creek let me know that they can accomodate us as a family in the jungle camp which is where we wanted to be.
