Would anyone have a good local rum punch recipe that they would share? I posted on the chat forum before I realized that this subforum existed... sorry!

I have had many run punches on AC and would love to know, using local fruit drinks, etc. how to make a rum punch we can take out to the pool while we are there in Dec.

I'm a former bartender and currently quite lazy about mixology ---- ergo, a good mix makes me really happy. I like the "Fruit Punch" Squash sold in stores here.
(I quite like it mixed with only water as a non-alcoholic drink as well).
The other item is - the rum. The flavors can be subtle or strong and may affect your finishing touches on the punch. If you are using a sweet rum, then consider adding some unsweetened lime juice to the above Fruit Punch mix.

What you say sounds like a good way to go. I buy the Caribbean Rum, not One Barrel. I can't quite get around the "caramel" flavor that it has.

Some like a bit of Malibu too.

Thanks seashell, I think some coconut flavor would be great in a rum punch. Good idea! I can always make a Cuba Libre out of the Caribbean Rum!

JR, Squash is not the brand name........I can't think of the actual brand name but they make several different fruit and punch drinks. It comes in a concentrate form and is some of the best I've ever had.

Just remembered..........Marie Sharps makes several flavors of Squash Punch mixes.

The lime, fruit punch, and grapefruit "squashes" are some of my favorite, There is also mango and orange. The grapefruit has been hard to find at times.

My mouth is just watering sitting here thinking I'll be there in 61 days and a wake up!! Thanks to all.. I think I'll have some fun concocting my own favorite rum punch.

Brand is Citrus Valley.
"Squash" is what it is - squashed fruit, concentrate.
The label on the product will say:
Lime Squash
Fruit Punch Squash
Pineapple Squash
Etc.

The fruit punch contains grapefruit, orange, lime and pineapple.

I'm nuts about the Lime.

So anyway, when you go to the store ask for the bottles of squash. Asking for Citrus Valley juice concentrate will likely be met with a blank stare.
They come in plastic 1-litre bottles.
