8:30 am - thunder, black skies beyond the reef.
This "thing" is continuing although the satellite radar does give us signs of a break "soon"!
Just FYI - yesterday AM I drove a normal golf cart from Mata Grande to town and back. It was not nearly as bad as anticipated, and far better than in past major-rain events.
Some areas of note for caution though - the road behind Seascape is a series of pools, fairly deep - advice even though they are a bit deep, the shoulders are mushy - go slow and go straight down the middle of them. Water stayed well below floor-boards.
The bog that nearly ate my cart by Cocatil is a lot better - rocks went into the middle of the puddle - stay away from edges and you will be fine.
Mata Grande puddles between Indigo & Grocery - multiple, but shallow and bottoms are stable.
Beach track in front of Barrier Reef - solid.
Beach track between Barrier Reef and Indigo - some really squshy areas and with the tides being high, could be an issue this morning.
Am told that the road between Mata Chica and Playa Blanca is impassable. I don't think the "back" road beyond Sundiver and up to Mata Chica is all that great either.
The GOOD news is that a portion of the beach had been cleared of the trash-spill by way of a neighborhood effort - a resident who can identify herself to ya'll if she chooses, supervised a very effective multiple-day clean up from Lot 4 to Lot 14. Lot owners along this stretch donated money to pay for workers to do this. Expanding the project to include the untended sections from Lots 20 - 29 is hoped for. Also of concern is the stretch just north of Mata Grande. Horrible amount of trash on a few lots in that stretch.
Spanish Reef and Flying Fisherman are also a nasty mess.
Section just north of Journey's End has been semi-cleared just recently.
PS - Bill, when the birds are gone we have a real problem on our hands.
