The Village of Crooked Tree and the wildlife sanctuary has been in a state of flooding for weeks now; today November 14, 2013 and the lagoon is still rising.

Covering more than 32,000 acres, Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary lies in a flat pine-savannah landscape less than an hour's drive north of Belize City's international airport.

This is the rainy season and the seasonal floods, but this year it seems to be earlier than usual. It's been more than 3 weeks of rain and there is no end in sight. The water is still rising.
