Caribbean nations, including Belize have walked out of negotiations at the United Nation's Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is nearing conclusion in Warsaw, Poland. The Honorable the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Sustainable Development, Senator Lisel Alamilla traveled to Warsaw earlier this week to attend the meeting. According to regional reports, the G77 and China, a bloc that includes Caribbean states, walked out of negotiations on Wednesday, saying they were frustrated by the non-agreement over who will take legal responsibility for the loss and damage caused by the changing climate. The negotiations continued into the predawn hours of Wednesday and delegates from the group of 133-member countries walked out around 4 a.m.
