
Presentation of the exhibition "Death is allowed" of Jose Guadalupe Posada.
The Embassy of Mexico cordially invites you to attend on Thursday, December 5th at 18:30 hrs. in the gallery of the Institute of Mexico in Belize City, to honor the opening of the exhibition "Death has permission" with works by important Mexican illustrator José Guadalupe Posada, on the centenary of his death.
The exhibition consists of 59 works, which are facsimile reproductions of some of the most significant prints of great Mexican artist and engraver.
José Guadalupe Posada (Aguascalientes, February 2, 1852 - Mexico City, January 20, 1913), was considered by Diego Rivera as the prototype artist of the people and its valiant defender.
He is considered a precursor of the Mexican nationalist movement arts and is best known for his drawings and engravings death.
He is also a passionate political cartoon illustrator that developed new printing techniques; worked and founded major newspapers and somewhat consolidated part of the iconography of the Mexican celebration of the "Day of the Dead".
The inauguration will be held Thursday, 5 December at 18:30 hrs. at the Institute of Mexico in Belize City. Admission is for all ages and free.
This exhibition will be open to the Public until December 12th, 2013.
