As we celebrate and remember the birth of Christ at this time of the year the Belize Police Department would like to extend season greetings to your families, friends and love ones.

As the season approaches we reflect on our past achievements, strength and weaknesses. In addition, I would like to express my profound gratitude to the members of the Police Department and the General Public for the support in the decrease of crime during this past year. Without your support; there would be no success.

Whilst we saw a general decline of crime statistic earlier this year; we must be cognizant of the fact that there are still major challenges to overcome despite the decrease in crime.

Therefore, I appeal to both the Police Department and General Public to be alert and more involved in the lives of their children and during the Christmas holidays. Sometimes giving a listening ear makes a huge difference and may prevent unnecessary mishap. Let this season play a significant role in building trust and confidence in our youths who are the future of this nation. In doing so you are helping the department to combat crime.

It is anticipated that with the many training sessions which we conducted within the Department in 2013 with our motive to conduct even more training in 2014; and with the help the general public; we will be better prepare to meet the challenges we face as a society.

The transformation of the Precinct Policing concept was introduced in the old city the roll out of the Crime Intelligence Management System (CIMS). CIMS will also effectively and efficiently assist us in our strategy to combat Crime. With intelligence led policing and training in the fore front; we expect to make ever greater strides towards reducing crime.

To the dedicated officer and civilians staff; of the entire Belize Police Department. I say thank you for your continued support and dedication in the course of fighting crime we also thank you for your generous contribution and relentless participation.

The Belize police department remains committed to its mandate of providing the highest quality service to its citizens of Belize and Visitors for the purpose of ensuring a safe and stable environment.

As we come to the closed off 2013 may 2014 find us in good spirits; with peace and good will towards each other and with God's richest blessing on our Country. As we continue to prepare for the birthday of Jesus Christ lets share, love, peace joy and Christ self-less act of Charity joy

I pledge on behalf of the entire Belize Police Department to continue in making Belize a better and safer place to be.
