Well...here we go again. The road grader has now been by 4 times this morning, at least here where we are between Palapa Bar and Ak'Bol. Wonder how many inches lower the road is now, as because every time he does it, that's all that happens, is that they just dig it lower and lower.

And the speeders are already having a huge go at it. Keep your kids and pets away, because they'll not be able to get out of the way as fast as the driver's are going.

The one thing I enjoy, is being able to see the bikes ride in a straight line for a change.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I haven't been to Ambergris since last March and there was talk of putting in a new road from just north of Pirates Treasure and up by the Maya House. Was that road ever started or completed ?

Thanks for the Road Grading Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Sorry for most of my neighbors they are some time pain in the B**T they want it graded when its bad and when its graded they complain especially my friend at "MAYAHOUSE". The road is looking nice a bit too nice infact for the taxi guys, but i'm glad for the job your council does.....LOVE

The speeds people are driving on the graded stretch north of the bridge now is just completely ridiculous and out-of-control! You're on an ISLAND people. An island that gets its major income from tourism. Tourists are scared to walk or ride their bikes on the road now. Tourists are sick of being gagged by the dust the unnecessary speeds are producing. Speeds are well in excess of 30mph, and it is clear, there are some vehicles that are going in excess of 50mph. As one pictures shows of a phone covered in cob webs, "If you stop answering, they'll stop calling". That is clearly going to begin to apply here. Isn't it enough to just go the speed limit, and get there comfortably without all the pot holes and enjoy the ride. Is it going to take someone getting hurt before anything is done. Why don't we adopt Caye Caulker's motto...go slow. There's a lot more enjoyment to life that way. If you want to drive fast, go to Europe and drive on the autobahn. If you want to live fast, move to the US. The smooth road is a huge bonus. The speeds are a huge nightmare (AND safety concern!).

Agreed, no need to speed just because the road is now decent. We're supposed to be taking it easy here.
