On a positive note I'd like to share my delight at the remarkable closing ceremonies in Sochi. Please, no comments on where money could be better spent, or politics or personalities ....... from a performance art standpoint I think they hit this ball out of the park. Beautiful, sensitive, humourous -- for once I was very glad to have a television !! If you did not get a chance to see the ceremonies, I suggest you try to find the long version somewhere and settle in for a sense of wonder and a few goose-bumps.

The Russians did a fantastic job of hosting the games. Too bad our men's hockey team fell apart! Great closing ceremonies.

What was your favorite event Diane? Of course I watched all of the hockey, at 4 am each day!

Those kids on the skis and snowboards amaze me! So talented!

Always wonderful to celebrate the best and most determined amongst us. I was 'fortunate' to develop pneumonia during the games and watched many more events by default than would have otherwise.

My favorite event was ski slopestyle.
I could not believe my eyes --- !!
Second favorite was the individual freestyle skating towards the very end.
Sorry to admit I did not see any of the hockey, but I bet it was cool. There were some VERY happy Canadians running up and down Front Street yesterday right after they took the gold.

Third favorite was the fashion commentating by Johnny & ?.
Hilarious. BTW - he was also featured in "Say Yes to The Dress" (my no longer secret guilty pleasure) and he WORE a wedding dress - he was the brides best friend and was getting impatient with her dithering. He did look good in white and bling.

The ski slopestyle kids blew me away also.
I want to ride one of those skeleton sleds at 80 mph. So cool!

I think they named those skeleton sleds correctly - one mistake and you're a gonner.
