Will be staying on AC in late April/early May. While I will be hiring a guide for a couple of trips I am also hoping to do a little fishing from the piers. Any suggestions for lures, gear, technique would be greatly appreciated. I'm from New Orleans, and I have done a good bit of saltwater marsh and wade fishing for specks and reds FWIW.

Check with Jim at El Pescador. He seems to be really knowledgeable.

Dont try to fish with out sardines. I tried lures while living there for 16 months and really had no luck. Bring a casting net or ask locals for some sardines. Josh

thanks for the info. how I missed the website info, I'm not sure.

Is there anywhere on AC to buy live bait, or will I need to cast net for my own. I'm not too handy with a cast net, but I can get by if needed.
