Teacher,
I apologize for my comment on the need for fitted sheets, My wife pointed out to me (in so many words) that I too have little things that some might feel are strange. It's going to be hell without my own pillow for two weeks!!!! ML

space bags: i bought them at bed, bath & beyond. you've HAD to have seen the vacuum type on TV. they look like big baggies. you put in your stuff and suck the air out, some with a vacuum attachment, others you push the air out like you would a ziploc. only they are big enuff for your clothes. they even make them blanket & quilt size. but they aren't cheap. i got 2 carry-on size & 2 suitcase size for $15.

Hey SweetJane, I just received some new travel bags that have a new patented one way valve and a zipper type closure. I'm really excited (yeh, I know it's sad that I can get excited about plastic)! You're right, they aren't cheap but they are worth it.

Sweetjane, I'm confused. I can see the advantage to those vacuum bags for packing on the way down, but what do you do when it's time to come home? Do you borrow a vacuum from the cleaning staff? I don't remember ever seeing anyone vacuuming in SP.

i like to roll rather than fold my clothes. maybe i'll experiment tomorrow & let you know.

I'm glad to get all the advice...

Does anyone else ever notice that the nicer the place to stay..usually doesn't have fitted sheets? I'm still trying to figure that one out!!

Thanks for the advice on the space bags...I'm going to do an intial pack Thursday AM, and if I need extra room...I'll run over to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Great advice...

ONLY 3 DAYS!!!!

The thought crossed my mind about calling them...but, then...I thought that they'll really get worried about the crazy high-maintainence lady who's coming on Friday!! LOL!

Hey, This is a subtropical climate. If it does not fit in the carry-on bag than you don't need it.
Plus you get to be the first one out of customs. That translates into an earlier flight to A. C. Which means you have a distinct advantage getting a taxi to take you to a place where you can drink beer and pretend you have been there all day when everyone else shows up.
Jeesh, I need to get off this island!! Even I don't understand this rambling.
