On behalf of Belize Forest Department and Belize Bird Rescue

You are cordially invited to join Belize Forest Officer, Ms. Victoria Cawich, and Belize Bird Rescue Manager, Celeshia Tuy, at 7pm on the evening of the 30th of July at the San Pedro Lions Den.

Ms. Cawich will be giving a presentation on the wildlife laws of Belize and how they affect owners of captive wildlife, particularly parrots. During the evening, there will be an opportunity for parrot owners to receive full instructions on how to obtain a licence to possess their bird legally and thereby avoid confiscation once the amnesty period ends on December 31st 2014.

Also, those with an interest in parrots will have a chance to question parrot experts on the appropriate care of a captive parrot so they may conform with licence requirements, and thereby ensure a long and happy life for their captive bird. Ms. Tuy from Belize Bird Rescue will be available to give 1-on-1 advice, and if necessary, to arrange to visit homes and help parrot owners find a way to conform to the minimum standards required for licensing.

This will be a very interesting evening for parrot lovers, parrot owners and those who are interested in wildlife conservation in Belize. We hope you will be able to be there.
