That was not sarcasm, Harriette, but tongue-in-cheek humor. I think Elbert is referring to the fact that all Bougainvillea blossoms are white. The blossoms are surrounded by colorful bracts. Just a technicality.
OK ok you got me. Yes, I knew the 'real' flower is white but did not realize that any could be seen in this pictures. Elbert - you have better yes than I.
The Purple Allamanda (I think that's the name)grows right along with the Bougainvillea in the sea grape tree. It is not in focus in the precious picture but is there in the top.
