A preview to my first documentary film: Flight of the Macaw. The finished documentary is to build awareness of the organization Scarlet Six Biomonitoring Team in Belize as well as to the issue of illegal poaching of Scarlet Macaws, an endangered species, within the protected Chiquibul National Forest.

Flight of the Macaw

This film is about the endangered Scarlet Macaws of the Chiquibul forest in Belize, and what Scarlet Six Biomonitoring Team is doing to help protect them. It was an honor to work with Roni and the rest of the Scarlet 6, and become part of the team for a few weeks, and truly a humbling experience to meet these majestic birds face to face.

Scarlet Macaw's are endangered birds who, in Belize are further danger by genetic isolation, habitat destruction, and poaching. Xatero, poachers crossing illegally from Guatemala to cut Xate leaves and poach the resources of one of Belize's Natural parks. 13 minutes.
