Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize
September 15-22, 2014
Summary: Weekend showers dying off by early Tuesday giving way to little rainfall thereafter, until early Sunday through Monday and Tuesday next, when showers will increase over all regions of the country. Upper diffluence over the SW Caribbean is generating moderate to deep convection in that region of the western Caribbean. Elsewhere in the western Caribbean and Belize, subsiding air continues to suppress scattered shower activity. The surface analysis for 6:00 am Wednesday, Sep 17, 2014 (Figure 1) shows a weak pressure gradient over northern Central America and the NW Caribbean. Meanwhile, a tropical wave is approaching the Lesser Antilles. Another westward tracking tropical wave is located in the central, tropical Atlantic, while a disturbance will evolve from an active monsoon trof over West Africa.

From Belmopan... 09:15 BZT

That cooler air coming down from the USA, brought a few showers over night, but as soon as the day warmed up, those evaporated.

This caused Fog over parts of Belize this morning, which has now cleared to almost clear blue skies . . . .There were a few very mall rains showers over the Caribbean, but even those have now disappeared.. . .. .So today will probably be mainly sunny, but hopefully cooler air. . ..

Yesterday, despite the sun, did not get above 89°F in Belmopan.. . .. So today, despite even more sun, might not get into the 90's°F, there will be some clound build up later today....But I don't expect any rain.

From Belmopan... 19:00 BZT

Cool air streaming southwards all day, but as the night temperatures cool, more of that wet air will get to Belize.

There may be the occasional rain showers over night.. .. But probably another cool, dry day tomorrow.
