Belize Weather Forecast: September 21, 2014

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Warm and unstable conditions exist.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Cloudy spells today and tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be generally isolated with a few more over inland and northern areas this afternoon, then over the south tonight.
Winds: East to southeast 5-15 knots.
Marine Forecast:
Today: Winds: E/SE 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy; waves: 2-4 ft.; generally isolated showers or thunderstorms; slightly more over the south this morning, decreasing.
Tomorrow: Winds: E/SE 5-15 kt.; seas: Choppy; waves:2-4 ft.;generally isolated showers or thunderstorms.
Marine Outlook: (Monday night): Winds: East winds 5-15 kt.; seas:Choppy; waves:2-4ft.;a few showers and isolated thunderstorms(mainly south).
Sea Surface Temp (°F): 81-83
General Outlook: A similar trend will occur on Monday and Monday night.

Tropical Weather Outlook: Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours in the North Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico.

Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize
September 15-22, 2014
Summary: Weekend showers dying off by early Tuesday giving way to little rainfall thereafter, until early Sunday through Monday and Tuesday next, when showers will increase over all regions of the country. Upper diffluence over the SW Caribbean is generating moderate to deep convection in that region of the western Caribbean. Elsewhere in the western Caribbean and Belize, subsiding air continues to suppress scattered shower activity. The surface analysis for 6:00 am Wednesday, Sep 17, 2014 (Figure 1) shows a weak pressure gradient over northern Central America and the NW Caribbean. Meanwhile, a tropical wave is approaching the Lesser Antilles. Another westward tracking tropical wave is located in the central, tropical Atlantic, while a disturbance will evolve from an active monsoon trof over West Africa.

Marty OP	From Belmopan... 09:00 BZT Belize radar not working since last night, when the storm area moved up from the Cayo area, to the north, mainly over the Belize border, into Mexico. Right now we have good Cumulus clouds and wind coming in from the Caribbean, giving us low level Easterly winds. . . . But the High level winds are still from the North, with scattered Stratus clouds and a fair bit of blue sky between, the sun is trying to come through. I think today will get sunnier as the day warms up, but with Caribbean cumulus clouds, so if there are no ITCZ swell-ups, it should be a dry sunny day. .. ..Trouble is, it is hard to predict where a small, violent ITCZ activity will occur.
