Thunder and lightning show prevailed over the sunrise this morning. Huge downpour just before morning rush hour, but it's all calm for now. Happy Hump Day.

Rain, rain for much of the night. although it was relatively light and only amounted to about 6.6mm ( 1/2" ) . .The Radar is showing myriads of scattered showers all over the Caribbean coming in our way, but I expect many will dry up before they get to land, but some will come through.

That ITCZ in Guatamala last night collapsed and then rebuilt, as they often do, but now over Belize, bringing light but often steady rain in much of Belize. . . . I expect, as the day warms up, for there to be less Rain, but there will be some, in any parts of Belize. . ...There shouuld be the occasional sun, but mainly cloudy day today.

There has been a small rotating air over the Atlantic now for some days. . . .It does not appear to be getting any larger, or more organised as they call it.. . .I don't know its later direction, but presently it will probably go towards the north Atlantic. but keep watching.. .. .Just checked, The weather people do not even have it shown.

The ITCZ activity is generally moving South, leaving smaller and more scattered ITCZ swellings in our area, but a s the year progresses, they will move further south, until clear of our area.. . .. .You may have noticed on the map, that there is more cold front showing along the south coast of the USA, and that today that is even further south. . . .These cold fronts will get more frequent and then start to get nearer to us. .. .They usually only side swipe us, which means we get some cool air and a fair bit of rain, but not the cold air and clear skies behind them.

The day time maximum temperatures are now starting to fall, as you can see in this graph. . .The Dotted line is the typical pattern. ..This year the Heavy red line has followed that dotted line very closely, although dipped in May, due to the early rains in May. .. .The heavy red line over the last 15 days, can only follow the actual Daily changes, it needs ±15 days for it to be able to work out the running Averages.. .. .Note how, typically, the night time lows are almost the same, over June, Jul, Aug. . . .This pattern is almost exactly followed every year, but now we get into Late September, that typical will not be followed and we will start to see dips in the temperatures, as cold fronts get nearer to us.

Despite the extreme dry we had in March and particularly April, the yearly average rain has not been that much below the yearly typical.. ..June was very uncharacteristic low, but May was higher than usual, due to the early rains.. ... .The Dotted Blue line is the long term typical. . ...The Light blue is the water in the Ground, close to the surface, that small plants can use. .. .The Light Green line is water deeper in the Ground that trees and large plants can access. . . .( All these lines represent 31/5 days, against the side scales, this is to to fit them into the graph, and relate more closely with the Actual Daily Rain as shown by the heavy vertical Blue lines, which are true to the side scales.. .. ( The red vertical lines, like the stars in the temperature graph, are just days of some form of significant activity or change, such as cold fronts, rain fronts, storms etc. ). .. The actual blue lines, that is the dotted and the solid dark blue lines actually mean nothing, they just join the Monthly Triangle figures together, making it easier to see.

From Belmopan... 14:00 BZT

Still rain showers coming in from the East, but getting less all the time.

There is still a lot of wet air out there, so it could swell up again this evening.
