From Belmopan... 07:30 BZT
Well the worst of the night rain has now passed.. . . .. I recorded 12mm ( 1/2" ) in Belmopan. . . . .The different directions of movement indicate that there is indeed a low pressure centre causing the rain and that is presently just a little to the NNW of Belize.
There is strong winds coming down from the States over the Gulf, conflicting with the warm wet air from the south, combined with their directions to produce a low pressure centre in our area, resulting in a number of high ITCZ swell-ups and the rain.
Looks as if things are quieting down, so perhaps only some isolated rain today, mainly overcast, with possibly the occasional glimpse of sun.
