Go get the big rope and lay it across the road just like your neighbors by the chiwawa crossing.

BTW, your dust problem because of the dirt road is now gone.

My apologies to Elbert for the "North" designation. He's been informing us for a long time that True North is in reality well past Mexico Rocks.

About 4/5 of my ride to town is now (or soon to be) concrete road, and for that I am grateful.
Agree that the stretch north of Mata Grande is pretty much impassable after rains and not much fun when its dry.
The road project has to start somewhere, it seems logical to have the first section closer in to town ..... and it has begun. Residents can apply pressure to see it progress farther as "promised" - IF they want it? That's the question ..... I met with several folks a couple of weeks ago who live or have resorts further up past Elbert and they are quite happy with a "no road" reality.

(I also remember when we used to brag that we lived in an area that was "boat only" and felt smug about it).

I'm sure the road is coming and along with it the problems it allows but It's one of those things you have to accept and can't change. The Town Board and Mayor are boasting of making a road North, my contention is the misinformation about a false North Road will relax or bury efforts to get a road to the real North.
Resort Hotels and beachfront residents suffer traffic on the beach and through their landscaping because there is no road alternative, I would imagine they all could see the need very obvious in the form of tire tracks through the flower beds. It's high tide and the road bed between Mata Chica and Portifino is under 2 feet of salt water in places, virtually impassable so the alternative is drive on the beach around tourist activities and that's very unpleasant for all.
Blocking the beach only directs traffic to areas closer to the hotels, private residents and resorts.
In some respects a road seems the only answer even though the road will make it more convenient for pestilence and burglars to access us from San Pedro.

Most of the area by Reef Village is do-able without risk.
Big hole behind Capricorn has less water and is passable.
Section south of Grande Caribe is also good.

The holes behind Capricorn are deep enough to stall you engine so traffic has created a detour
The big problems start at Mata Chic going North. Since we've had no rain all that muck and flooding of the road is just high tide.

So I took a chance on the road north yesterday and got my golf cart stuck. Can anyone provide the number of someone who is able to tow it back to town. Much appreciated.

Hope your still not stuck there. You have the right to pass on the beach in lieu of a road... but OMG the attitudes of the beachfront folks. Watch out for booby traps and flying coconuts :-)
