Hi all,

Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum but my gf and I will be taking our first trip ever to AC (and Belize) and had heard that we needed a Typhoid vaccination. Does anyone know if this is true?

No need. Have been here 22 years without that shot.

Sunburn and hangovers are your most concerning threats to health.

Welcome to the island!

Thank you very much Diane! I called the pharmacy before I posted and they said I would need a prescription. You saved me a doctor's visit!

Diane is correct. no need, it's shame you where told you need shots to visit.
no shots or meds of any kind ...except of course what Diane suggested for hangovers.

The answer to the question is correct - for now. With the sanitary conditions in places like DFC and San Mateo and the proposed future subdivisions that lack the infrastructure for proper drainage, water, sewage, garbage disposal, etc, I fear in the future the answer will not be the same and we won't be joking about it. frown
It is totally irresponsible for Heredia and the Goverment to plan for future expansion before providing adequate sanitary conditions for the existing population.
