From Belmopan...
The thick Fog this morning before 7am cleared rapidly, confirming there were clear skies last night. . . . The high level SW Pacific air and stratified cloud is dominating our area, pushing the Caribbean air up northwards, so hardly coming over Belize.
So it is just possible that there is cold air pushing down from the US over the Gulf. . . . NOAA this morning can't be bothered to show this or other details, but with the Caribbean air being pushed up northwards and I think a very slight hint of NNW near surface air from Mexico, then there might be cold air coming our way. . ..Will we have snow for Christmas. ?
There are a few clouds around in the distance, the humidity in the sky is high, as shown by the very light blue/white sky. . . .I expect it to be a mainly sunny day, but with cloud building up later.
6:30pm
Merry Christmas!
There is certainly cloud coming down from the Gulf, now well over Mexico.
NOAA, still cant be bothered to show the cold front, but going by the surface temperatures on NOAA, the surface cold front appears to be round the north rim of the Gulf, but there is significant blanket of low cloud pushing across the Yucatan peninsular right now. . . .Hard to see if this will bring rain, it certainly could over night and tomorrow morning. . ..So it will probably be a White Christmas for us, that is mainly White Clouds covering Belize.
9pm
The wind shifted to the North at 8:25 PM local time indicating the passage of the Cold Front. There is only high thin cloud so no rain at all. The Caribbean remains extremely dry. The cold front will likely have little affect on Belize weather. Just a little cooler at night for the next few days.
