With 285 days into the road project launched by Prime Minister of Belize Hon. Dean Barrow in June of 2014, the Corozal infrastructure project is approximately 70% complete.
Today as our news team paid a visit to the work site in Corozal Town, over 80 workers employed by Imer Hernandez were busy as they aim to complete the work by the end of July.
According to a ground supervisor, the weather has been holding up favourably and if it remains that way the project should see much more improvement in the near future.
Prime Minister Barrow had allotted 4.4 million dollars to concrete one mile of the Philip Goldson Highway in Corozal Town starting from in front of the Social Security building right up to Santa Rita Hill.
And while Imar Hernandez is responsible for the road project, another family member of DPM Gaspar Vega is granted the project at the Gabriel Hoare Market. That is his brother Liborio Vega of LV and SONS Construction, who along with William Lamb Jr., the Executive Director of the Belize Social Investment Fund are in charge of the market project. We understand that the project will see the remodelling of the market and already, fifteen stalls that are being constructed at the market.
This project falls under the Municipal Development Project in Corozal Town which should also see infrastructure improvements at the newly built sporting facility in that same municipality.
