I'll be in San Pedro in the next day or two.
How's the surfing down there?

I'll respond on the assumption that you're not joking.

There's no surfing near Ambergris Caye, because there's no surf. The barrier reef that runs the length of the country breaks the waves apart, so the only substantial waves are outside the reef (a half-mile off shore). What's more, the past few days have been windless and pristine, so the ocean is like a clear lake.

Big winds are headed for us at the end of the week, though! So windsurfing is a real option.

You can surf up at Habaneros cut (about 11 miles north) but it's also where the Tiger Sharks hang out...

Everything I'm reading says there is only nurse sharks in Belize, with teeth like cottage cheese. Apparently you can put your whole head in their mouths..

Tiger sharks, YIKES! aren't they man eaters? I'll stick to web surfing.

Great, now I've got Maneater by Hall & Oates running through my head.

There are a wide variety of beautiful sharks on our reef including tiger sharks, bull sharks, reef sharks, lemon sharks - as well as the famous nurse sharks. Sharks are not man eaters, but 'man' definitely are shark slaughterers. Fortunately, a great deal of work is being done to protect our sharks and their value is being recognised.

I've never heard of a Lemon Shark, but I did look up Tiger shark and they are almost as aggressive as the Great White as in ....dont dont dont dont ba...da daaa.

I'm not worried, I know about San Pedro in beautiful Belize! If your going to Belize you're going for nature in the raw!
If I wanted safe,
I'd go to Disneyland!!

But I'm coming on the Breeze to Belize!
