Does anyone know whether Mayan Islands Resort is still in business or if it has changed names?

Does anybody here know anything about this place and the ownership? I've got a friend asking me about them. TIA

Reopening next month after some rework/renovations. They are having an open event mid November that they are inviting a lot of local front desk, concierge, bar people etc to familiarise people with their facilities - resort restaurant bars etc.

It's my understanding that it's on it's own little island west and south of San Pedro.

Thanks Phil. Anyone else have anything to add? Anyone else find it odd that a place that's virtually brand new has been closed down for so long for repairs?

Spoke with one of the Managers last night. They decided to close while making additions to the property (rather than updates) so as not to have guests staying ina Construction zone.

Thanks Allie. Good to know but the info I seek is unlikely to come from a source such as yourself.

Anyone else please feel free to contact me through my private message inbox.

Thanks to all.
