Does anyone have any ideas about getting rid of iguanas? There are quite a few on our property in the Eden Isle sectio of Caye Caulker that are destroying plants.
Caye Caulker's iguana population already seems to be plummeting. The path to south point is littered with corpses killed by kids and their slingshots and the live ones are harder and harder to spot.
I have always had "sacrifice" plants. I have plants that the iguanas eat and they have left others alone. Of course they love the flowers so I mainly have bougainvillea in terms of flowers and lots of croutons.
Looks like it's kind of like the same problem we have here with foxes (in Northeast U.S.); once they find a free food buffet, they keep coming back! I found this article, maybe it'll help:
