From Belmopan...
That heavy cloud area over the Caribbean is breaking up, and part of that breakup has been coming over Belize over night, causing bands and areas of rain showers, some very heavy, more so in the south. Belmopan has had 49mm ( 2") rain this morning, but now I see a fair bit of blue sky and the sun. This rain is very patchy but can be very heavy when it does happen. There are two conflicting high level clouds over Belize and that wet Caribbean area, the Caribbean wet is swinging down over Belize from the NNE but there is Pacific cloud coming up from the SSW. These conflicts causing bands of rain and small swell-ups.
I expect patches or rain to continue during the day, but get fewer as the day warms up, so we may see some sun and a reasonable amount of dry today, after the present rain has eased up.
