Somebody's drone was buzzing my backyard and my front yard and coming all the way up to my veranda yesterday. Early in the day I heard loud buzzing sound and thought that I had a nest of bees in the back, but later in the day found the sound was coming from a drone ..... At the time the drone was directly in front of my veranda, about eye level, a maybe 75 feet from the house.

I a cannot imagine anybody thinking this is ok. Am told that somebody staying north of Mata Grande is doing this as an attempt to sell promotional material? If you know who this individual is, kindly PM me.

A completely justifiable response (although probably expensive) to an unwanted intrusion.

I'm told that as of November 1st you now need a license to operate drones in Belize. I haven't seen it in writing yet but based upon the videos being shot right beside the airstrip it may be warranted.

I'd be happy to facilitate a workshop led by two industry experts, both licensed pilots (one a United captain and expert on legalities and ethics). Curriculum would include these two topics as well as safe hands-on flight instruction. Not sure how $$ it might be but would depend upon interest.

I am sure Belize would welcome a United airline pilot coming and teaching them legalities and ethics.
Besides the term legalities and ethics, condescending comes to mind.
If I was from a country that did not need advice on legalities and ethics, then I might offer it to others.
