A new road to Lamanai
In his independence day address, Prime Minister Dean Barrow announced that the government will be investing in the construction of a road to Lamanai via Lemonal village. Since that announcement the construction on the road has already commenced.
The work commenced on November the 6th and work is well advanced to see the hotmixing of 7 miles of road from the intersection of Bermudian Landing to Lemonal Village. The contractor, Rodla Construction Company estimates that the road will be completed by April of next year.
With the completion of the road, it will open a new access way to Lamanai which will significantly cut the travel time to this archaeological site. The Guardian
