Does anyone know of any good all inclusive resorts at AC? Also, does anyone have a ballpark range of what this would cost for 1 week?

Journey's End is about the closest thing to an all-inclusive on the island. You can add an all-inclusive package to their regular rates. They have a Web site and you can get to it here from Marty's Lodging section.

Most people don't want an all-inclusive on Ambergris, however, as trying out all the interesting restaurants and bars is part of the fun. It's safe, fun and easy.

A few other places can put together all-inclusive packages on request, but again, why do it?

Cayo Espanto, a villa resort on the back side of Ambergris basically offers an all-inclusive experience, too. But if you have to ask how much it is, you probably can't afford it! (Rates with tax and service range up to US$12,000 a week.)

We stayed at Journey' End. Good food, somewhat limited selection, BUT delicious and reasonable. Fun bar, really nice people and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Angie, Leroy, Susan, Melissa, Kent all very helpful. I wouldn't recommend the all-inclusive. Our food and drink bill for 8 days, was very reasonable. Around $700 for breakfast every day, dinner 6 of 8 nights, tons of alcohol, rum punch and alot of belikin, some lunches and snacks, for two people. We wanted to eat other places too and found the food really good at Capricorn, Caliente, BC's sunday beach barbeque, and dinner one night at Mata Chica. Journey's End is really beautiful. If you want a quieter pace, with really nice cabanas, only 3, reasonable, good food, pretty beach, on the north end, try Capricorn. It's small so you'll have plenty of solitude. It would be nice to stay there a few days, then go somewhere else. We liked Journey's End because there were a few more people there but still quiet, relaxing, intimate. Don't expect plush rooms. They are pretty basic, but comfortable, air conditioning, refridgerators, nice big showers with plenty of hot water. Captain Morgans actually has really nice cabanas, especially if you get a newer one. But nowhere beats the grounds and setting of JE. On the south end of the island is Victoria House. Beautiful. Clean, beautiful rooms, VERY nice. A long drive by golf cart down the dusty road or water ferry probably by boat. More polished and upscale, European flavor, staff helpful. It feels like a golf resort in a way. Quieter pace and older clients. More polish. Depends what you're looking for. Still liked Journey's End, atmosphere the best. Don't know much about Portifino on the North end or Mata Chica. Mata Chica is pretty and the rooms are nice. MORE expensive though. Look into the packages available through JE.
